Does anyone know if there are any of these that are American made? The only ones I saw the the stores are made in Mexico. Also, any opinions on the quality of the Mexican versions?

Thanks

They're all MIM...my experience has been that you should play a few and you will see the differences. Some of them are killer! 8)

The Fender Custom Shop has American made ones: they call 'em Relics.

They're also roughly 5 times the cost of a Road Worn. As the previous poster said, MIM strats vary WIDELY, play a few and buy the best. Trust me, the best can be pretty darn good.

I tried probably 6 or 7 and couldnt find a good one in the bunch.Probably the most poorly setup strat out of the box I had ever played.Helen Keller must have been doing quality control that day.I ended up with a new American Strat for 100 dollars less.I tried to like them too.

Agreed. You either love or hate them. They fell to me like a guitar that's been a bused rather than loved for years. I got a new American Standard instead for $130 more... worth every penny.

I've played three now and they were all great, the setup was perfect and they sounded fantastic.

I have mixed feelings on the road worn Strats ..I hate the idea of a guitar coming out of the factory already beat up..But i did find they played fantastic..So a guitar center let me take one for a test run..I hated it it still played fantastic but i felt the pickups were very weak the tone was soft ..I can't really describe it..That was on a Friday night gig so i took that one back and got another one same thing on Saturday night. The only thing i can chalk it up to is that i just don't care for the Tex Mex pickups..
I still don't like the idea of a pre beat up guitar but i love the way they play and with different pick ups i think they would be great guitars.
