I have a 2004 MIM I just bought for a project guitar, and I am stripping down the body and repainting it, But the Tremolo is is sad shape so I am thinking of replacing it, Question is Will a Vintage Tremolo fit a MIM or do I need to look for a MIM direct replacement?

Thanks in Advance
Jim

The wilkinson 5+1 trem will fit and convert you from the 52mm mexican spacing to the 56 mm american spacing. Its a direct fit, smooth and easy. Has a massive steel inertia block (far thicker than either the callaham or vintage strat types). It only cost £25 too.

My absolute favourite.

Most MIM are Vintage Tremolo. Stumac.com has a ton of replacement parts...

Thanks Niki, do you have any experience with the wilkinson 6 hole replacement? I was thinking of a Callaham block, but you can get the whole Wilkinson for the same price.
thanks,

I've been searching and found this http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Bridges,_tailpieces/Electric_guitar_tremolos/Wilkinson_Gotoh_VSVG_Vintage_Tremolo.html. Can someone tell me if this is the direct replacement for a 2008 MIM standard ? If not, can someone please post a link to one ?
The one from stewmac.com looks to be just about the same price as the callaham setup.

Thank in advance,
Mike
