The question is about 60'th anniversary american strat made at the Corona Plant. It got serial number starting with 'Z62' and metal anniversary stamp(a thing like a coin, I don't know how it called in english) at the back of the head of the neck. It had a sticker with inscription 'Deluxe Powerhouse Strat'(and another specifications, such as model number and etc) on the pickguard. But as far as i remember, Deluxe serial numbers start with letter 'D'. So I'm little confused and ask you a question: is it possible that Deluxe Strat serial number doesn't have letter 'D' in beginning?

Only the "American Deluxe" series starts with a "D" The "Deluxe Powerhouse" guitars carry "Z" (MIA) serial numbers and are a less expensive series then the "American Deluxe".

The Powerhouse Deluxe is a mexican model isnt it? Mexican guitars have a M prefix. The Z denotes zero for the new century (00,01,02 etc). N denotes nineties guitars. Ex MN8 would be mexican plant 98.

I'd be a bit carefull about a mexican guitar with a Z prefix and no M or MZ. Theres only the highway1 and American Standard production models that carry that prefix. Unless ofcourse any Powerhouse Deluxe owners have similar. Anomalies appear all over the serial numbering system. Be carefull though mate.

Yes, I think it is. There's no american version listed at

013-9500/02 is this strat's model number. I can't understand where it is said in this list that it isn't american made.
There is 'made in U.S.A.' inscription on the head of the neck and metal plate which is connecting neck with body has 'Corona, California' inscription. Maybe the point is that it is 60'th anniversary and so not listed yet? I'll post few photos of this strat later.
Thanks for your help.

My Mahogany HSS Special edition Stratocaster (1 diamondback humbucker, 2 tex-mex single coils) starts with DZ?

What exactly does this mean? My guitar is an American and I do not see it on the Fender site?

Thanks for the help.

the Mahogany Special edition Stratocaster is a MIA Deluxe so you will have the DZ (well until 2010)

EDIT: Mahogany body, painted headstock, all done in the what ever its called see through red color...is what makes it Special Edition
