Hey all! last year I bought a new lefty am. standard strat, and I have played/loved it to peices since! However I did notice that the pots used were standard audio taper pots wired backwards, which makes using the controls quite aukward. I enquired at fender australia as to why he guitars were not made with reverse taper pots, and the tech's answer was they are the way they are because fender made it so. I would really appreciate a better explanation if anyone has one to offer

Unfortunately, your tech is telling the truth. If you want reverse taper pots, you'd have to have pay for the entire modification yourself. Further, you'd have to have an authorized Fender facility install them as technically, it is a, "custom" modification where installing them outside of the Fender 'loop' would most likely void the guitar's warranty.

Point of curiosity: does anyone sell knobs numbered in the opposite direction to go on pots that work the other way around?
