Is it possible to remove the Fender sticker on the pickguard without removing the protective film?

Reason I am asking is that I'm thinking about buying a guitar being sold online as new, however the sticker is missing from the pickguard. I was wondering if you could do that without tearing the protective film. If the film has been removed I would find it hard to believe that the guitar is new. The guitar is being sold online so I can't tell from the picture whether the film is still on.

Unless the guitar is being sold by an Authorized Fender Dealer it is USED, not NEW.
And even then if the Fender sticker is removed I would still be leary of it being USED.

Why not simply ask question the seller about the film on the pickguard?

I'm with you on that one. The only reason I can think of for the sticker being removed is if it were previously sold and returned.

Hello Fender_bender7,

Firstly welcome to this forum.

Well another reason it may have been removed
is, from being test driven it began to look nasty.

On or off is no guarantee of being a new instrument.

Cheers.

Also... don't know what the deal is, but if it looks too good to be true... it usually ain't true.

Yes. If you've ever taken that film off, you know it can put "stuck" back on. Whether that seller has done that or not is debatable.

Whats the best way? take if off? or just leave it on? how to thoroughly deal with the screws without leaving film under the screws? Or does the film come off easily? Thanx

I usually loosen the screws a tad , that way the film doesnt stay under the screw. Why would you even think about leaving it on?

Yeah, I could never understand that. It's like leaving the plastic on your couch that you use all the time.

Do all models have a pickguard sticker when new? The reason I ask is I recently bought(and rejected as it was scratched) a Dave Murray Sig model. I watched the guy in the shop open the box, so they couldnt have removed it.
