Hello.
My Strat is from about 1997, but only got 2 pots. 1 tone and 1volume.
Can it be a standard Fender? Since I started to look for a similar setup
last year, I have only seen two copies on the internet that got 2 pots
mounted in the pickguard and a Floyd Rose II
Does anyone know if there was any production of this model for 10-15 years ago?IMG]http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h68/orange_six/floydrosefender.jpg[/IMG]

Thats a strange one that looks legit except for the missing control. Did you buy it new? It could be a mod, if you bought used.

Can you post some pictures of the headstock and the serial no' please.

Runziggy.
You posted the picture exactly right except one thing. The IMG code for the pictures has the squared off brackets either side of the letters IMG. So they are . The first squared off bracket got missed off your initial attept. It read just, IMG]. Perhaps a problem on the copy and paste, or a editing mishap.

Hope that helps.

Dan Smith era stratocaster?

No. Absolutely not. That's far too new to be a Smith, and the smith NEVER had a licensed FR trem... The Smith had a guard mounted plug receptacle also.

That's a Mid 90's Standard Stratocaster, Floyd Rose Equipped. Some models came that way, particularly in Europe.

Where was it made? US, Mexico, Japan? First 4 of the Serial Number? I can't remember where those were made... but I think Mexico.

I just saw a guitar at a local pawn shop that is like the one you described except for one fact, it was a Squire
A 1998-99 Squire Strat # MN8105490 Made in Mexico
Agave blue metallic, HSS, white plastic trim, maple 21 fret neck, Floyd Rose II trem, 1 vol, 1 tone control
I had never seen one before, and it looks legitimate. I guess it is possible that the MIM Squires were identical to the MIM Fenders.

I had one like it. got it in a pawn shop in 1991 I haven't had it for many years but mine was meatlic green, made/crafted in japan, and had a black headstock. I bought cuz the volume knob was farther away I've always had a problem with turning down the volume with strats. Seems like the vol was push-pull but i can't remember. It was a pretty good guitar Seems like it was labeled a Strat not stratocaster but that could have been another guitar I've had 7 of them

The 2 pots suggests its got the TBX system.

Is the bridge a real Floyd Rose? Or is it a "Fender System 1, 2 or 3" bridge/trem.

I'll bet its an MIJ and I'd also bet its a 1980's vintage.... Might be a Contemporary or a non-USA destined MIJ model.
It is mexican made. Seems to be a 97 mod. Got Floyd Rose II but not any TBX. Just wonder if anybody knows if this model was made in lots of copies? Or if anybody know of
this model at all?

Hi Ziggy-

I had a strat exactly identical to this model. It's an MIM Floyd Rose strat Squire Series. There should be a "Squire Series" on the headstock- mine started to come off by bubbling so my luthier took it off and tinted the neck with a matte finish which gave it a vintage look. One vol, one tone- HSS- Humbucker has no adjustable pole pieces... gold lettering on the volume and tone and vintage style tuners. The neck is begging me to ask you some questions... I sold my guitar and it was since sold again to a guy who took it to the states. The neck was tinted, and on the back it had a very unmistakeable grain on the 'thumb' side of the neck. I acquired it in 1996 new, and I wrote on a piece of paper my name and address when I was 15, folded it and put it inside the input jack cavity.

I know I sold it to a friend, but I would really like to see the headstock, volume and tone knobs and the back of the neck if you'd be so kind? I would appreciate it and at the very least I can confirm your strat model :) the reason why I ask is because it looks exactly like my old baby I sold years ago  I notice that the neck has a tint and you dont seem to have a 'squire series' on the headstock... im intrigued :)
