Hello all,

I've got an American Standard HSS and want to replace the factory Diamondback humbucker. The question of whether the factory humbucker uses a coil tap or not is important.

Does the bridge humbucker in the HSS use a coil tap? I'm a little shaky on the definition and so the specs are a little less than definitive to me.

Thanks,

J

Yes, it does. Anytime a humbucker's two coils are wired to work with options other than them being permanently wired in series with each other, the ever ambiguous phrase, "coil tap", applies.

Hi Cooder: just to be boringly pedantic about it, it's a coil split, rather than a coil tap.

Today's item of worthless trivia from Ceri. Something about Martian's wording suggested to me he decided he didn't feel like running round that particular track this afternoon...
