i have a 62 reissue strat which i love. in the product profile it says it comes with ’57/’62 pickups.

does this mean that my 62 has 62 pickups and the 57's have 57 pickups?

or do the 62 and 57 reissues come with the same pickups?

thanks in advance.

thanks but that really does not answer my question?

again, are the pickups in the 62 reissues the exact same pickups in the 57 reissue?

57/62 pickups are one and the same.Otherwise there would be 57 pickups and there would be 62 pickups. The 57/62 pickups is the name of the pickups that are in the 57 and 62 reissue.

Yes, the pickup set is the EXACT SAME THING in either the 57 RI or the 62 RI model guitar.

The model of this pickup set is called, "57/62". This is what may be confusing you. SO... A 57 RI Strat has a pickup set of "57/62 Strat pickups in it as does a 62 RI Strat have a set of "57/62" Strat pickups in it.

Get it?

thanks for the responses....it just didn't make sense to me that the exact same pickups would be used in the 57 and 62 reissues.

I always wondered how they get that the 57 and 62 were the same pickup? In reality they were different back then! My guess is they are talking average sound of the two.

The posts in this topic remind me of "Who's On First?"

I recall reading that the "Original '57/'62" pickups were modeled after a set of 1963 pickups. A picture of the packaging clears it up:
