I just did the same search you did. When I search guitarcenter.com for "American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar " I get a long list of different color schemes In Stock.

Here's the link to the search I just performed. I'm not sure what is happening on your end but there are definitely American Std. Strats available at Guitar Center.

That is very interesting because not even the sales rep from the Guitar Center outlet I went to yesterday or the customer service I called at the Online Guitar Center could not find any. Not even with the item number that the sales rep used from Guitar Center could he locate that particular model. You must be very fortunate to find them at the Guitar Center that you log into.

just checked online at GC here ( in Oklahoma City) and it shows they have all in stock ( first time i seen every color maple and RW fretboards all in stock )

I think Guitar Center and Musicians Freind are having cash flow problems. They have prolly placed orders and creditors not extending credit to them. It was just like this when Mars Music went out of business...
