Hey all, I'm considering 2 guitars, the strat plus and the 57 strat reissue.
Both are selling at 2grand Singapore dollars. Strat plus is made in 1990 while 57 strat ri is made in 1989. May i noe which 1 is a better buy? Tks

I may be biased but I'd go for the Strat plus. It is a discontinued model and quickly rising in price. Try them and buy whick ever feels better.

Hello Harroty,

What color?
Well if you get it, please treat us to a photo.

Cheers.

I'm going to second the 57 reissue...

The Strat Plus was a good guitar, but really it was just an American Standard with hit-or-miss pickups, and a roller nut. I liked mine, but there were reasons that Fender stopped making them, excellent build quality, but no tonal soul. Mine was even graffiti yellow... lol. Ah, the 90s. Good time. :p

Those 80's reissues are money in the bank as far as build/sound quality.

I have both, and it's a toss-up for me. If you use the bridge pickup a lot, I would say the '57 RI is the best bet. Mine is noisier than my Plus, but sometimes I like that balls-to-the-wall feeling. I honestly think my pickups are better in my '57. But my plus has a better comfort and feel to me. I like the smooth nature of the roller nut and the modern spring system.

So it's a toss-up for me. I like them both the same, but for different reasons.

If I were offered one of the two I'd go with the quintessential 57 strat!
