Thanks again to you all for looking.

The Carvin Amps are absolutely great. The 2-12 Vintage Belair and the 1-12 Vintage Nomad are both 50 Watt all tube combos, on 2-12 and 1-12 extension cabs respectfully. Because the Power Section of these amps are identical, it is a bunch of fun to play through them both simultaneously. I use the Lehle P-Split, which is a completely passive router that sends the full guitar signal to both heads at the same time without degrading or coloring the signal in any way. Put the Belair on Clean and roll in a little dirt from the Nomad and let the tone fun begin.

I hope you guy's catch a look at the "Strap Racks" I love collecting straps, and although every guitar has a dedicated strap, I really only use one or two for anything I play. There is never a shortage of interesting straps at any guitar shop that the wife still lets me visit.

Thanks again
Noodles

Very nice collection. Now I don't feel so guilty about the amount of gear I have.

dude that is a strap rack that even Carlos Santana would be envious of!

and you are the one who first made me take a look at the Carvin amps after the other discussion yesterday. I was talking to my guys at the local shop and one of them said he has used the Vintage Nomads and really spoke highly of them along with the other guys who had used them. I'm looking at the vintage 16 myself.

Thanks dbr

I have always wanted one of those 2 feet wide Santana straps, but real ones are very pricey. Maybe one day.

I think the Carvin Vintage 16 is a great sounding amp. I had seen a guy several years ago playing through a Carvin amp and he just loved it and said that he never had a problem with it.

I really wanted to try the "dual head simultaneously" thing (a la Eric Johnson)...he uses 2 Fender Deluxe Reverbs with one signal at the same time. Lots of players use multiple amps, although they almost always switch between heads with some sort of A / B system. I wanted to run both at once. I read an article written by EJ and he explained how he did this and I thought it was super cool.

A pair of Deluxe Reverbs and Ext Cabs also proved to be a bit pricey, and my research determined, IMO, that the pair of Vintage Carvins would be the closest compromise.

I have been very pleased with the results.

Thanks
Noodles

I need that lemon drop LP. You simply dont understand the full extent of the NEED. The only reason i wont buy a new LP is because you cant get em in that colour with that hardware. They got close with the garymoore but not close enough to get me to part with cash.

So cmon Jromanov, whats it gonna take to get you to part with it?

Sweet collection mate, except for the lack of marshall.

Niki

Thanks so much for looking at the pics. I was hoping that you would. The Lemon Drop LP is actually a Custom Shop Historic 1958 Reissue. They only made it in that color for 1 year and it was called "translucent amber" although officially Gibson just called it "flametop". They also offered that year the same model in what they called "plaintop". I have never seen another in that finish. It is super flamey and I'm sorry that the pic is not so great.

Thanks again for looking

PS I did have the original Marshall JCM 900 head to go with that 1960 Cab. My son uses that setup to play out with and prefers the Mesa Dual Rectifier head on the Marshal cab.

Thanks again
Noodles

Okay, since we are talking Les Pauls, the one on the fireplace looks like a sweetheart. What's the story on that bad boy?

I love that one as well. It is the last year that Gibson made the Les Paul Standard Premium Plus. It is finished in Desert Burst with the uncommon black back. Also a custom shop model with some cool upgrades. The AAA flamed maple top is killer on it, it has those cool looking jade green vintage keystone style tuning pegs (a la ES-175) and the upgraded high performance Burstbucker Pro Alnico V pickups. You can play a power chord on it...set it down and go get a drink...and when you get back the chord will still be sustaining.

Without talking too much Les Paul...the white Studio is the meanest of the Paul family. It is an 89...the last year that they did the Dot Neck. Has an ebony fretboard and all black chrome hardware. It weighs around a hundred pounds, and is really serious about rock & roll. The white finish has a great 20 year old patina and its the one you want to take to a fight.
Use one of the others for that smooth jazz or those expression filled blues riffs, and if you want to get angry, use the 89.

Thanks for looking at the pics

Noodles just a great collection of axes, also that is just a beautiful layout. I was wondering since your wife is so understanding did she have a hand in the layout of the room as it was done so tastefully.Niki we are on the same page there mate, as there is no doubt that Les Paul is to die for.

Cat

I guess she should get some credit for the room layout. She definitely inspired it with 4 repeated words..."Clean Up Your Crap" Wires, pedals, tuners and the like were always all over the place. We built the Amp Riser to resolve this problem. You can see that all the wires, pedals, and foot switches are neatly tucked away into the base of the Riser. Another added bonus to this...and something that I firmly believe that everyone should do is "Get Your Amp Off Of The Floor" This is the single most important thing that you can do for the sound of your amp.

Lots of companies like QuikLok and Auralex make Amp stands & risers for this reason. We built ours into the room using 3/4" MDF and carpeted with the same stuff that the Car Stereo places use for making Sub Boxes. All the wires run through the rear of the riser.

Sorry Niki ...no available sisters
