Post subject: Fender-American-Special-Mahogany Temolo arm **PLEASE HELP**

I got a fender Fender American Special Mahogany HSS for a gift a few years ago and when I tried to install the tremolo arm I found it the wrong one.

the part numbers from fender

1 tremolo arm vib-am std #0026103000
1 knob tremolo arm oarchment #0056250000

At the top of this owners manual addinum sheet also has a number
#0076176000 kit assy am std strat (uns)

please help-your my last resort

First off let me say that this forum should have been your 1st stop. Tons of helpful folks here.

In getting to your question. I would be suprised to learn that your local shop doesnt have an arm laying around that would fit your strat. I've probably got one in my desk drawer. The best way to be certain a part will work is to take the guit to a local vendor and find one and fit it there.

A yes I took to Guitar Center they tried all the trem arm they had but none fit. So next the tried to order one fron Fender and was told it's no longer carried.

Now what to do?

My mistake! I should have been more specific before. Take the guitar to ANY OTHER local vendor besides GC.

Also, I cant guarantee this to be fact, But I'd bet that any arm from an american HSS rig would work.

I don't own an American Special Mahogany Strat but I have played one at Guitar Center. The one I played had an American Deluxe style snap in tremolo arm rather than the screw in type used on the American Standard. I think that's your problem.

I have the same Strat. John is right...you need the snap-in arm. GC may not sell those in stores. Look here:

It is exactly thhe same arm as on the AmDlx...the snap in without the plastic tip.
