For the astronomical price he charges for it, let us truly hope so.

Would that be the now infamous, Gibson Hendrix Tribute Strat (or whatever they are calling it this week)? :?

I've been curious about Callaham's milled steel tremolo block. My new Highway One has a cast zinc block in it and was wondering how much of an impact it has.

Please let us know how it turns out and your feelings about the difference!

I've replaced a sintered non-ferrous (zinc) block with the milled cold-rolled steel Callaham block, on a guitar that I am intimately familiar with. Also, I am a skeptic about "tone" claims in general.

The difference was undeniable and excellent in every respect. The guitar exhibited longer sustain, a clear "ringing" quality in the mids and highs, and open low strings rang like a piano. The guitar instantly had better articulation in chord, more steely "bite" when soloing. Also, the trem bridge balanced better, and while becoming just a bit harder to work, it added a tuning stability that I've never experienced in a Strat before.

I recommend it to everybody who asks. Absolutely worth every penny of $60.

I have heard the difference between a stock Fender bridge/block and a Callaham. After I installed the Callaham the sound definitely improved. Especially on the treble strings. Highly recommended.

I just ordered the American Standard premium upgrade kit. Looking forward to getting it and my expectations are high. :)

You will not be disappointed. The combination of the block and saddles is an amazing improvement as previously stated.

As for concerns about "astronomical prices" the stock Fender bridge assembly is 99 bones and the Callaham upgrade is $120. In my opinion, the day & night difference is worth every penny of that "astronomical" 20 bucks!
