I HAVE A STRATOCASTER NECK AND AM TRYING TO DETERMINE THE YEAR OF IT. THE NUMBER ON THE BUTT END OF THE NECK IS ST-562K. THERE IS ALSO A RED K AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SERIAL #. CAN ANYONE GIVE ME AND INFO? THX

Kind of reminds me of the kind of marking on a MIJ neck, Just a guess so I'm probably wrong. There are some knowledgeable posters here that can tell you for sure. Can you post a pic?

Yeah sounds Japanese. The 62 part might mean it's the same neck used on the 62 reissue, but necessarily from a 62 reissue.

I have a 87 squier, and the code on the neck is similar, but has a 57 in it.

That's just a guess from me though, and could be completely wrong lol.

I have a 1985 Fender Japan Contemporary Stratocaster with neck markings ST-555EX. I do believe that yours is also MIJ, but I could be wrong. Check Fender Japan web site to find info on model #s.
