hello. I've been around this forum for a while learning a lot from everybody here. lots of great info. I believe this is my first post. now, i have a vg strat that i bought a while ago when they went for 999 at gc for which i traded in my lp and i don't regret at all. now my question is, out of curiosity. what kind of rig are you running for the vg? mine is vg to gt10 to behringer 300 watt keyboard amp. i get pretty good sounds out of it but i was wondering what works for you. by the way i love playing the blues but i mainly play contemporary worship for my church.

So, welcome. :D

I don't have one either. But I think you made a very smart purchase. Did you get a burst?

Welcome to the forum! there are several members that own VG's and I'm sure they'll chime in later. From what I here a really nice guitar and may be valuable later due to the limited run and supply! :)

I have a VG that I play thru a Fender Cyber Delux. This combination provides a lot tonal combinations.

Longtime forum members zzdoc and giljanus own one, Giljanus won his here in a forum contest, They both love them! I particularly like the 12 string option. Always wanted a 12 string electric ever since I heard the Byrds doing Dylan! 8)
Hold on to it!! 8)

I bought a Black/Rosewood VG at the clearance price a few months ago. My usual setup is a Fulltone GT-500 and Ibanez AD-9 analog delay into a '65 Twin Custom 15.

That's how it starts. Then you want to ditch it after you realize the pain with tuning the thing.

I have to say that the acoustic and the 12 string settings are my favorite. with the 12 string setting i can get a pretty close eagles hotel california kind of sound.

I have a silver VG. Got it last fall. Fun to play around with, I run it through my Pignose 40W at home. Never brought it out on stage before though.

I play mine through a blackheart little giant half stack with a big muff pi and a vox wah. Great sounds - 12 string tele is awesome, humbucker sounds good if you don't feel like taking the gibson off the wall. I don't gig much, just open mike kind of things, I just mainly play around - ie hear a song on the radio of from the ipod and then go home and try to find a youtube lesson or a tab, so if i'm bounding around from clapton to page to hendrix, it's easier to just turn the dial than to get the other guitar down.
