I got a guitar from an aquaintance recently. It looks like a custom shop guitar with the nice wood grain and beautiful hardware. It has a small sticker on the back of the head that says "American Designer Edition" and the serial number is Z00xxxxx. Because it doesn't have the "D" at the begining of the serial number I am confused if this is in fact custom or was it the Guitar Center exclusive in 2000? It is clearly not a Standard and above a Deluxe even though it doesn't have the "D" in the S/N Anyone able to shed any light on what I have? Thanks[/img]

Since it's a Z0 and has the locking machines, I'd guess that is it a strat that is transitional from the Plus to the American/Deluxe.

Deluxes go back to 98 dont they? The Z0 prefix means its a year 2000 guitar. Maybe FMIC were sighing with relief that the computer crash didnt happen and released a special run to celebrate.

Good 'ol Leo Fender, he had a big crew, they built so many guitars, they couldn't tell who was who :!:

Looks a helluva lot like a photoflame to me. Nice!

Quien sabes, muchacho.

That's a nice looking guitar.

I've seen Telecaster "American Designer Editions," but this is the first Strat I've seen. It is a Guitar Center special. It's not an American Deluxe.
