The Road Worn series is made in Mexico.

It can't be too much longer before they offer an American version.

Exactly, eventually they'll fill the void between the MIM relic guitars and the custom shop relic guitars.

Huh???? Fender was already making "road worn" American made guitars, but they called it "relic". The road worns were made as there were demands for cheaper priced versions of the custom shop "relic" guitars.

Since the cheapest production line Custom Shop relic is $2900 I'd say there's room for a mid-level relic.

Some guys are making serious assumptions about the Mexican nature of the Road Worn Strats. To these people, I say get over it. If you're at all interested in the relic/worn look get out there and try one. These are high end Mexican guitars. I've played several and they're no-one's cheapo relation..

I agree, they play and sound better than most of the American models.

I tried several road worns at different stores .Most of them are set up like crap.Warped pickgards and many of them were badly innotated.Out of the box the American plays better.Better attention to detail.Thats the kind of thing you notice when you pick one up and play it.For 949 I decided to pass.Got an American for 100 dollars cheaper and couldnt be happier.

I too thought much the same. Not a pleasant experience. The MIM standard was equally as good, if not better. And I like relic's.

Off topic but, anyone know what the neck profile on the Road Worn 50's strat is? I tried one out and although I didn't really like the sound or the lack of attention to detail, the neck was perfect for my hand. If I could take that neck and put it on an American Standard which I love, I'd be one happy camper :)

Spec sheet says soft v. I have a soft v in my classic players and it is quite chunky. I really like it!

Thanks man! I appreciate it! I thought I'd never find a good neck for my hands and I picked this up and was like WHOA! Was not expecting that.

Ive heard good things about the Classic Players series, very great guitars. My friend let me borrow his CP 60's Strat a while back. It was seriously one of the best Fenders Ive played in a while. Enjoy yours man! :D

No problem bud. By the way, if you go to the products section at the top of the screen, you can click on any model guitar and get the spec sheet. The Classic Players 50s is a soft v. The 60s model is a "C" shape.

Oh thanks. I usually just use the forums. Never really checked out the product section.
