The Jeff Beck Signature Strats have the LSR Roller Nut. Why does Jeff Beck use the older style Wilkinson Nut on his guitars? I see it in the pics of him holding the Strat.

Cause they're older

Older photos with older guitars. I have both the Wilkie and the LSR and they both work great. The only problem with the earlier Wilkinson is that you can't use some of the larger (0.52+) diameter strings.

ME once observed that signature series guitars are often a 'snapshot' of the artist's stage guitar and not identical right down to the very last detail. Always hold out for the possibility that the artist will do something unique to the tools of his trade.
