Thats awsome, thanks for all the input, Iv'e been playing for a long time but just recently got into building and upgrading parts for my guitar, I think Im getting one with a wider nut so I have more string spacing. I like to play alot of david gilmour does anyone know what size frets he uses?

Here are the specs for the Gilmour Strat

Thats a good link for the Op to look at fhop. The Op will see that the Gilmour used small vintage frets and the nut is smaller spaced then American Standards. Plus a tight vintage radius 7.25

If he's pursuing DG, he's going in the wrong direction neck wise, but that may be where is comfort level lies.

When spacing nut slots you need to consider the line of the string. You need that string to stay as near straight as possible, when viewed face on. You dont want the string to pull to the left or right of the nut slot.

Good point I might decide to keep my neck now becuase of that. Is it becuase they will break and go out of tune?
