I own a first generation VG Strat. It's based on the American Standard platform. I recently used it in the studio and experienced a weird "dissonant" sound when using the modeled 12-string Telecaster setting.

Has anyone else had this problem? Also, is there a firmware or software upgrade for the VG electronics?

Any help is appreciated.

The guitar has been discontinued and I don't believe it's electronics were upgraded during the entire period of its availability.
