after looking around and comparing prices i have finally come to a decision...the strat that i will be getting for my birthday is a 2008 USA Olympic White Classic. Maple neck.

Congrats on your future guitar. Only suggestion is to play before you pay. Love to see pics when you get it.

i have played it and its just feels and sounds amazing. i know it probably sounds weird but it feels really good in my hands, like it suits me.

here's a photo of it now, at the shop. but when i get it i will put up some photos of it from my house.

No objections from me. That's the route I went when it was time for an '08 American Standard.

I'd say you made a wise decision. 8)

I guess the Olympic White is a popular color. Here is my American Standard Strat. I got her for $950 out the door. With the $100 rebate, I got her $850 practically :D

Bends what is there to object. That is one sweet looking Strat and you have been playing long enough so if it feels right, nothing left to do then to get her and tear it up.Congrats on turning 14 and the new ax.

Nice one. Wish I'd had one of those when I was 14.

My only advice is NEVER sell it... I know it's the last thing on your mind, as you've not even got it yet, but you'll find hundreds of people here that wish they'd kept some guitar or other that they had way back.

Keep it, cherish it and have some great times with it!!! :D

If you don't keep it bone stock, only make changes that can be reversed to stock condition. And for everything you may replace, keep all the original parts (including HSC and its candy) with the guitar no matter how minor. It will really help the value because (1) most buyers prefer "bone stock" and (2) it reflects well on what type of owner the guitar had. And ... if possible ... keep it forever.

I have a '76 Gibson SG that I removed a tone pot from that I really regret not keeping now.
