I would like opinions. Is this a good trade. I have a 04 Lake Placid 60s series and I am thinking of trading it for a MIJ Tele in sunburst w/ maple fret-board.

Assuming both guitars are in great condition, do you think this is a good trade straight-up?

I did not pay a lot for the strat, but it plays nice, and I also have 2 other strats. I need the tele for a project.

Opinions are welcome and encouraged.

thanks,
Kong

tough call, i am one of those MIJ snobs I'll admit it, but if the tele plays nice and you need one, then it would be a good trade I think. really just depends on how the tele plays and if you think you can part with your strat in order to gain a guitar for your project

If I wanted a tele I would have no problem trading a MIM for a MIJ. Japan has been making quality guitars for a long time.

Yeah, not a bad trade at all if both guitars are in proper order.

You got plenty of strats, you need some tele goodness in your life. They take a bit of getting used to though. I really miss the tummy and forearm cuts

Looks like the consensus is that it's a fair trade.

Thanks to all for chiming in. I thought it to be a good trade, and It's good to see no one here has any major reservations.

I am just waiting on pictures of the tele. I'm lining up a 2nd trade if this one falls through.

Niki - I know what you mean, I've been Jones-ing for a tele for a while. I have a project thread in the tele forum. This trade will provide the needed parts as well as another potential project!!
