I came across a MIJ body. Anyone know of a MIJ neck for sale. I was told that only a MIJ neck will fit as the neck pocket is deeper on MIJ strats then on MEM or American made. This doesn't sound right to me. Anyone know if this is true. :?: Thx.

Does not seem right to me. The Japanese were very good at making very faithful copies of the original vintage guitars. It does not make sense to me, nor have I ever heard of the neck pockets being different. I personally know they are not as I have placed a USA AVRI neck on a Japanese '62 reissue body. Fit fine. No problems.

The only differences I am aware of are in terms of the screw spacing on the bridges. The U.S., Japanese, and Mexican screw holes line up with each other while (at least some) of the Korean, Indonesian, and Chinese made instruments use a different string spacing.

Thanks for verifying my feeling. It made no sense to me either.
