I had sort of stopped building because I was realizing that I had too many guitars, and the 'hobby' was interfering with leading a productive work life. I was keeping an eye on Ebay for good deals, however. Then I managed to find an 1987 AVRI '62 neck for $87, that came with a parts lot of pickups, and an early floyd rose bridge (I love it when people list stuff in the wrong Ebay category):

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0385848882

I sold everything else off, and when all was said and done, the neck was free and I had positive $77 to spend on the rest of the guitar.

Added a Japanese '62 reissue body, and loaded pickguard with vintage noiseless (will be adding the Clapton boost later), and voila! a $133 '62 reissue. :)

All that I am waiting for is the chrome bridge to arrive. I used the gold bridge that I was saving for my Mary Kaye project just to have something on there. Didn't want to deal with stringing it and setting intonation until the bridge came in.
