I saw that the other day..I think he is a little overpriced..I wonder if he would consider taking my First Act Sheena custom in trade as it is one of 6,000,000 made..I'm sure it is soon to be a heavily sought after guitar by collectors... :D :D

I honestly don't understand why people that own these vintage guitars advertise such ridiculous prices. $125,000 or $38,000 or $25,000. They won't sell for that in the end anyway. Nobody has that kind of money to spend on a guitar.

Then pray you never get offered a gibson moderne, or a 58 V or explorer.

$125,000 is chickenfeed (about 10%)for what they sell for. People do buy and sell various guitars for a lot more money. $125,000 is exceptionaly high for a 62 strat, saying that the exceptional condition, colour and the fact that its probably the last of the pre cbs slab boards will push the price well above $30,000.

I'd also think that 30,000.00 would be more in line with what you'd expect to get. 8) Mike

Two scoops of rosewood on the fingerboard!

I should think that $125k would be an insult to a prospective buyer.

What, does this guy think we're all fools?

Its the way that a rosewood fretboard is cut and fitted to the maple neck. On a slab board neck the underside of the rosewood would be flat and glued to a flat topped neck. After 62 the topside of the maple neck had a radius so rosewood board would have to be radius'd top and bottom. A slab board is identifiable by looking at the heel of the neck. The rosewood is thicker in the middle than it is under either E string. I dont know what method fender use these days. My custom classic is slab boarded (i suspect) because of the 22nd fret, and the way it overhangs the neck. If thats the case standards and deluxes should be the same.

The fourth post on this link clearly shows the difference.

I had no idea what a "slab board" meant either. It's amazing what you can learn on this forum with all the experienced and knowledgeable people who post here.
If I win the PowerBall tonight I will offer him $50,000 for it. Of course there is as much a chance of that as it snowing in Phoenix in July. :D
