H i Im new to the forum and recently bought a strat with serial number z6120734 can anyone tell me if this is a highway strat or an american standard

I think you should be able to tell the difference just by examining the headstock. The two have different string trees for one thing. Maybe different tuners too.

According to this site which is a guitar dater site that you type your serial number in and it gives you the info on that guitar your guitar is a 06-07 American Standard http://www.guitardaterproject.org/fender.aspx

If it's got the big 70's headstock it's a Highway One. If not, an American Standard. Mike
