Hello all
I just completed my first build of any kind of guitar.
My 2 favorite guitars are my '63 Jaguar and my American Strat, so i was looking at them one day and thought it would be cool to combine the 2. So i started thinking of how i wanted to do so and which parts i wanted to combine and drew up a blueprint.
i Made the top half the shape of a jaguar and the bottom half a strat. Put a '64 jaguar neck on and made it 24"scale, with a left handed SRV strat trem. All gold hardware, made from solid African mahogany. I designed the pickguard and designed 2 of the plates to fit what i wanted the guitar to do. It has a 5 way channel selector 2 Tone 1 Vol standard strat set up(when top switch is down). It also has the upper control pannel of the jaguar set up to control the neck puckup only when switched on(up) with a volume and tone. the pickups are Lindy Fralin woodstock 69's that are set up to be upside down with reversed polarity, as hendrix's would be.
All of the control plates are 23k Gold Leafed, with golf leaf that was my great grandfathers. And the carving at the bottom i drew and my Father hand carved into the body, and i then gold leafed.

It plays and sound superb. its looooud. It feels both like a strat and a jaguar but it definitly has its own feel.

it was an extremlly fun project and i will be building more of these, it is just as nice/nicer as my other guitars

any thoughts comments or anything is cool, or just look

have a good one,
Steve B

sorry i have no sound clips of it yet or video, but check this out:

that is a thing of beauty, I love a guitar that looks like its made of wood and not a hunk of plastic.
