this is reference to my last post,

basically ive changed strings on my strat and now the 3 low string rattle bad, when played open and worse when fretted.

i dont get it. it was set up perfect before the string change.
i havent changed gauge.
im 99%sure ive put them on correctly (they are locking tuners)
i changed brands, and then changed back to original strings to see if that would rectify it, but it didnt.

ive heard people talk about greasing the nut when you change strings, could it be this???? if so? how do you do it?

could it be the action has some how lowered slightly? i have the action fairly high though, is it hard to raise the action slightly? does it invole truss rod adjustments and innotation stuff?? sounds risky to me,

just to add i have the bridge fixed, dont know if that may affect it?
im sure it shouldnt!

im truly stuck with this. my guitar tech is out of action on long term sick at the moment, so cant even take it to him. bloody knightmare!!!

i just dont understand how this can happen, some people change strings after every gig.

i understand that i need to learn to set up my own guitar, but at the moment im a complete noob at this stuff, and really need some advice
so any help would be really really appreciated...

so why is my girl choking guys???

I hope this doesn't insult you, but as you sound pretty new to guitar i will ask.

And as i can't hold or handle your guitar in person, it is hard to tell, so I am just throwing this idea out there.

Are you all the way back to pitch, or is it possible you are tuned way too low, and your strings aren't back to proper tension?

I change my strings a couple times a month, sometimes more, and I seldom have to work on any of the adjustments of my setup. I wish I could reach through the internet and grab your guitar, it's hard to diagnose problems from just a description sometimes.

hi twelvebar.

dont worry that doesnt insult me even a tiny bit

ive played acoustic for years and years, but about 2 years ago went electric and havent looked back since.. so i am new to all this tech stuff.

yeah its defenatly in the right tuning. my guitar teacher had a look this morning, he thinks the necks probaly moved a fraction somehow?

think im gonna raise the saddles a teeny bit, see if that helps! do you think that might work? but i think a truss rod adjustment will do it. dont know if i dare do that or not!

thanks for your help
