Has anyone discovered any tricks to clean 21 years of aging off a pickguard without destroying the shine?

You can use polishing/rubbing compound on it. It'll remove the scratches and swirls and leave it shiny new!

There are plastic windshield polishes out there for Planes and boats.I believe Meguires makes one.
I usually just use a good liquid auto wax on my guitars.
