But I have another question....

Why do wierdo's who feel compelled to actually name their guitars always choose a womans name? And please dont say "because I feel like Im making love to a woman when I play" because when youre moving your hand up and down a long object at waist height, you may be thinking of a woman, but what your handling aint that woman, right?

That question was designed for you youngsters....

Well, I guess--even though I have not put a name to any of my guitars after the first one--it's gotta be because we wouldn't like to be handling a male-named guitar in the first place, think about it...it's probably a man thing, like someone else in the forum said 8)

I just bought a candy cola left hand american standard. Haven't named her yet but my wife has. She calls it " that damned expensive guitar that I can't even play"

I named my guitar "Sunshine" 8) Sunburst color, also because of the song reference. "You are my Sunshine..." and then there's "Sunshine of Your Love"...etc. So it's a very fitting name. And it's a woman name. 8) lol

My purple Squier is "the purple one". My blue Fender is "the Fender". My Les Paul is "my Les Paul". I try thinking of clever things to call them, but in the end they always end up being "this one" or "that one".

Hi Tex: presumably girls give their guitars boys' names?

Far as the "weirdo" thing is concerned, I ain't going there...

I think Don Randall came up with some pretty good names for guitars. It was him who thought of Telecaster and Stratocaster...

Respect, Mr Randall. (RIP 2008.)

Cheers - C

I was just posting in another thread how I wanted to give my guitar a ridiculous name.

How about George or Clive?

(Ridiculous name for a guitar... great name for a person... before I get lambasted by all the George's and Clive's out there.)

The first acoustic and last acoustic i ever built i named sorta...In the sound whole a made a computer generated antique Martin styled label..But instead of it saying C.F Martin i made is say C.US Fartin.Childish i know but funny anyway..I also hand painted the head stock in cursive and bent the F so it looked more like an M so you had to look at it before you would notice..My oldest kid has it now...
Other than that i refer to my guitars as the Suhr Strat (Fender Strat with Suhr V60'S in it)..The Floyd Rose .The Ultra referring to the Fender Strat Ultra..The 71 referring to my 71 strat...Ibanez..G&L and so on....
