For Some reason I think as soon as I fork out the $699 for a SRV Neck Fender is going to feature a 12" radius neck and 6105 frets on a american deluxe or standard strat. How did SRV Get a Neck like that. I wonder how much it would cost to have fender make one for me. I wish i didnt have to buy a neck that has SRV's sig. printed on it.

Hi ericmu17: you want a 12" neck, huh? Well, you could alternatively buy one that has Eric Johnson's signature on it instead.

Maple:

or rosewood:

Those are much admired Strats, amongst the best the factory has to offer...

Cheers - C

Or, you could buy one from Musikraft, USA Custom Guitars, Warmoth or even Allparts with the 12" radius for generally under $200. It won't have a logo on it though ...

Having it refretted won't change the radius. You'd be better off buying a new neck.

You don't need to be obsessed, nor do you have to go the limit. Anything is a tall order. Set a goal and save your pennies. They'll build it the way you want it.

Eric,
You might look at the classic players Strat. MIM but a good guitar. Neck Radius 12" w/ medium jumbo frets. Rosewood only though.

I'd advise the same necks what other people have said.
I just wanna' know something myself -
Can you get a Warmoth neck with Fender written on it?

I don't think so ... but I think you can buy "bootleg" Fender logos you could apply yourself. I've heard getting one from Fender is a big deal, but you might be able to do that as well, I don't know.

Why try duplicate the real thing when you can just buy the real thing.

Because you may want features with your neck that Fender doesn't offer, such as a 12" fingerboard radius with 6150 frets, or a different fingerboard wood such as Ebony or Cocobolo. You might want a compound radius. Maybe you want a solid rosewood neck ... there are lots of reasons. Also, you can generally get a neck of just as, if not better quality for less money.

You will find the Fender agreement with Warmoth on the Warmoth website.
You need to know that any suggestion with respect to misrepresenting the veracity and authenticity of the Fender logo does not wear well in these parts. :?

I couldn't find that agreement on the Warmoth site ... can you post a link? I'm just curious to read it. I really should have stated that I DO NOT advocate using "bootleg" Fender decals at all. Some people though "have" to have the decal on their headstock ... so I was just passing on the info, but thanks for the "heads up", I'll remember that.
