Gday rkreisher what does CV stand for I am learning about Squiers I think they are great guitars. My neck has virtually NO varnish lacquer at all was actually cleaning a few spots and marks with fine wet and dry sandpaper when I noticed how easily it was rubbing off, the neck is great and deserved at least a couple of coats of something. rkreisher can you please tell me the heirachy of the squiers from cheapest worst to the top level thanks mate how are you and nice to see you again mate blaaaaaaaaaaaaaa and twaaaaaaaaaaaa to you Vinny Pop

Sorry Vinny someone beat me to the post. Classic Vibes are on the upper end of the Squier label. I cannot tell you the heirachy that easily. Every guitar is different (even within the same series). Generally here is how it goes in my honest opinion (IMHO):

5. Bullets because of the basswood body, low quality pickups, and thin to nil clear coat in the necks
4. Squier Standard Series--agathis body
3. Affinity --would be # 2 and the pick ups are not as good as below, and tuners are crappy
2. Obey/Deluxe series are neck and neck but only because the pick ups are good
1. Classic Vibe/Vintage Modified series' are neck and neck

Some people will disagree with this order of this listing, but I just had to put them in some sort of an order. No offense to anybody that has any of these guitars...as mentioned, some are better than others. Also with the help of a good technician, all could be really great guitars.

Actually I believe its Standard over Affinty. Standard has alnico pickups where as the affinity has ceramic. The Standard is full size body and 2 point trem, where the affinity has the smaller body and 6 point. I believe they are both made of alder now. My older affinty is agathis . But you are right the bullet is the bottom of the barrel Squier with the Classic Vibe/VMs/and Deluxes being at the top
