Maybe the Fonz remark gave them a hint.

When I think it's getting too repetitive here I go away for a bit and go shopping. In my absence I got a few new toys :D.

Don't get too excited, it isn't some new Masterbuilt guitar that shoots road flares and poaches eggs.

Well Mike maybe they have, but I'm a realtive noob around here and I've gotten some good advice from you ( about my old twin ) and others here. Also I find many of the threads entertaining as well, even if the question was asked a couple of times. OK I'll ask what does jumping the shark mean?

Hi filerj: the moment when a TV show - or anything else - officially runs out of good ideas. From this infamous scene:

And the concept has taken on its own life...:

I found this site sometimes ago, because you know, when you started the first fifteen years of your life speaking only french, sometimes you need help.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/

Just type a word, an expression or a whole phrase in the "Look up" window and voila. Very helpfull for me. :) See ya.

Jumping the shark originated from Happy Days, when the ratings were slipping. They had an episode of the Fonz jumping a shark tank as an attempt to get the audience back. The gimmick didn't work and the show was canceled shortly after. Now when a show is on its way out it is know as jumping the shark.

No, the forum hasn't jumped the shark.

heck, I just saw under the pickguard of a 1983 Strat (with the new-improved-1983 Free Flyte trem, or however they spelled it). That's a first.

So I hope there will always be something worthwhile amongst all of the "I changed my strings and my bridge is sticking way up - help!" posts.

And the "I just bought this such-and-such guitar, is it real and did I get a good deal? " posts are always entertaining!

If you think about it, this whole thread is ironic: Look at all the new dialogue which has been generated out of a concern that there is no new dialogue left to be generated.

Everybody sing: "We like it here, we like it here, you bet your 'mule' we like it here!!!" :D :D :D

Could shark jumping become a new extreme sport. Throw some suffocating sharks onto the ground and see who can jump over them. The winner could get free shoes for life as a reward. I think making the losers pay for them would be a bit cruel though....

How about a new, shark skin suit for the runners up? Ah, forget it, this whole thing is fishy to me.

Good cod man, don't carp. There's no porpoise to it and you'll make me start to whale, and then I'll get crabby.

...Oops, I think I'm skating on thin ice here, and I'm starting to flounder - I'd better clam up.
