I play a costume classic start. I abuse the trem on it and it wont stay in tune. I was thinking of putting locking tuners on it and a roller nut first. Then if needed I was thinking of trying the Fender locking trem systum but havent seen them in a while. Is this Fender locking trem a dead issue?

Any help?

I used to have an 84 or 85 Japanese strat with a locking trem ... are you referring to those older Japanese models? (There may be a newer one I don't know of)

I have played the new ones...They do not have the rout needed for a good pull back, you can dive good. Overall if you like to dive alot, this is one of the Fender guitars to get. See link for a price quote:

$700 seems to be the going price right now.
