Has anyone tryed or own the fender locking trem for the strat.

I've used to have two from and back in, the 80s.

I owned a Squier back in the Eighties/Ninties and it had a Licensed Floyd Rose tremolo. The licensed FR was decent. Every once in a while I would have to do some minor retuning. I replaced it after 10 years to a FR Pro. That tremolo was perfectly balanced and I could bend and dive all day long and never have to retune my guitar (after the strings were stretched of course).

Fender has a Floyd Rose equipped guitar in their mix right now. I have played it in the store, it is decent. IMHO I woud change the pickups asap after purchacing this guitar. The Licensed FR is a lot better than what was on my Squier, but you cannot pull back very far. The body is just not routed the way it should.

This guitar will be my next Fender guitar purchace (well either that or a Telecaster).
