Thats a fender Bullet body and a american strat neck.

not worth $850

i personally wouldn't buy it, but probably not worth more than $400

This is the 82-83 model strat, not a bullet body. These are pretty rare as these were made in teh last days of CBS owned Fender.

so based on that are you thinking that $850 for what is pictured would be a good deal? Ive played it and it plays real nice, but i have gotten mixed feedback about it.\ with some saying it is only worth about 400-700

Well, the neck looks like it could use some love, but I think its a fair priace for a 25 year old guitar, if you like playing it.

Well it looks correct and 700. to 800. + is what they go for. It's a revised Standard Strat 83 to 85 . The(Dan Smith) Standard Strat that were also made from 81 into 83 have the 1 Vol/ 2 Tone. Also both came with 3way switches there is a way of telling if its original by the shape of the center wheel.

I used to have an old 80s strat. It was a pawn shop find, only $115. But I traded it in for credit towards the jazzmaster I have now a few years ago. Only had one vol, one tone and the jack was right there on the pickguard. I do not lament the loss of it.

Hey, just joined and wanted to show you my '83 Strat.
The serial # on mine and the one you are thinking about buying are very close. They made strats in that time with 1 vol. and 1 tone control and other small changes to cut cost from what i've heard anyway.

I'm no expert but I have an 81 American Strat and it has the two tone and one volume control plus the input is the angled in the body input. Is that an american strat? There are other people on this forum that are more knowledgable and could answer better.

and I should add, that I'm considering having a Custom Shop model with this pickguard configuration, simply because there is more wood.

DBR2026, I see it is an American strat, I couldnt get the pictures to open up the first time. As I said before there are some people on the forum that could give a better idea about what it's worth. Good luck with your decision.
