1. Please stop yelling; turn your 'Caps Lock' key off!

2. Please type in cohesive, coherent sentences in order to initiate any stimulating dialogue.

I absolutely love my American Deluxe Strat. Everytime I listen to any other strat with any other set of pickups, I'm struck by much better I like the SCN pickups. In every way I find that guitar to be flawless. It's feel, the resonance of the wood, the feel of the neck, the locking tuners which make changing strings a breeze, it's incredible. I must admit I'm not totally in love with the S-1 switch, but I do love the sound of the pickups without the S-1 engaged.

That's what's good about the S-1. It's there if you want it and not if you don't!

I'm 50/50 on the s1. Its great with it and without it. I do like the middle position s1 down, but thats no good for me in rhythm playing. It rules as my lead selection though.
I'd make do without it but am glad its there.

I tried those Am Deluxes at GC but I found that the Am Std suits me better. I'm seriously considering a Custom Shop next time. Guitar magazines don't help me either, the more I read them, the more I am gassing for stuff!

I love my Am. Deluxe Strat mine has the HSS i find i leave the S-1 on and use the 2,3,4 on the swich....for the Standard Strat sound i just use one of the std strats and use 2,4 on the swich....hmmm I guess i really dont need a 5 way swich.

as far as hum on the deluxe never had it.

Thats what their designed to do, encourage you to buy more gear that you dont need. I'd have saved a hell of a lot of money if i'd realized that a few years ago.

Notice you never see anything get a bad review in a guitar mag. Its cos they cant slate a product than hope the manufacturer pays for a double page advert.

I love my Deluxe with S1 switching - dead quiet and really sensitive to all that you do with the strings.

I got a bitchen tobacco two-tone maple v-neck one. It is my favorite guitar. I plan on getting an Olympic White maple neck Standard in the future when work picks up again. My deluxe feels great on the hands just like the original Jimmie Vaughn ones use to feel!! :D I also dig the S-1 switching because it is not a bad idea to have more than enough in the case of guitar tone and different amps, recording options, etc. I feel this guitar is bound to become even more desired in the future when others get a try at it! 8)
