I bought a 2nd hand strat yesterday-don't really know much about them other than its a US made unit with serial # z9xxxxxx so not sure if its a highway 1 or what.
PO had changed the 3 pickups to 'noisless" , but other than that not much else.It is a cream colour with rosewood fretboard.
My other guitar is a Gibson Les Paul standard wine red- love that axe but very heavy.
I'm very much a self taught beginner with a love of blues/country rock.
I reside in Adelaide , Australia and am 59 years old.

I went to the local Fender dealer and it turns out I have a Blizzard pearl , standard with noiseless p/u and custom bridge piece (whatever that means). Apparently the PO would have spent more than the price of a deluxe to upgrade these mods and it doesn't have the S1 switching or the locking tuners but, I'm very happy with this axe
I played it through the Laney LC 15 R tube am- only 15 watt but it sure sounds sweet- a somewhat different sound I'm used to and a little easier to negotiate around the frets 8)

Peter,Just like the Crows last week- bad result for you and us.Next year? :(
Picked my way through a Shadows number and the Strat is so accurate; I tried the same on my Les Paul and found the notes harder to get as cleanly I can see why so many noted guitarists moved from Gibson over to Fender, however, with one sweep the Gibson showed who's boss on the big chords and sustain- case of apples for apples .I now have a choice and am a very happy man- :D
