Pretty nice! What kind of finish are you thinking about for the body?

Its still in the oil can shop i'm afraid mate. Theres a vintage auto meeting near me once a month. Parts, reproduction stuff too. My drummer says thats the place to go. So 25th Oct, i'll be there.

I am toying with the idea of a ronseal (woodsealer) can but think it would suit a rosewood board better. This is going to be two, 1piece maple necks.

Still no more out of me on it for awhile. Never built a neck before so am a tad nervous.

The body is going to be a metal oilcan. Inspired by user Allthumb's cigarbox guitar, that i need to see updated pictures of (hint hint).

Oooo - interesting!

I wonder what kind of trussrod you are going to use? And which end you are going to have it adjust at?

Good luck - C

Still toying with the idea of heel adjustment though it seems vastly harder to install correctly than the headstock adjuster.

After a afternoon of sawing rough shapes i'm begining to wish i hadnt bothered. I certainly see why it got the 'rock' prefix.

Wow, you think?

Have you got a drill bit long enough to reach in across the length of the headstock to make the access hole? Is that drill bit of a small enough diameter for the job? (Stew-Mac and WD Music double action trussrods need that hole to be 0.25" / 6 mm.)

How will you hold that long drill bit steady enough as it goes in to exactly meet the trussrod channel the other side of the nut? Do you plan to drill a bigger hole and then plug it with a hollow walnut dowel, Fender style?

It's all do-able. I take my hat off to someone who finds it easy!

Respec' - C

I was planning on using a routed channel plugged with a curved walnut insert. In truth I havent decided on plugged headstock or just leave it blank and have a heel end adjuster. I spent rest periods this afternoon making relevant jigs for square and fretting out of an old warderobe.

Just gonna take this one as it comes.
