Hi , here I am again ..seaching for a new Fender that shares most of the features of my 1991 Strat Ultra. An ebony fretboad and the neck specs are most important to me ... Modern C shape neck, 25.5 scale, 22 frets, and 9.5 radius. The Amer DlX Strat HSS nails it except for the absence of a pickguard ( I tilt towards a more traditional look). But, I just found the American Deluxe Tele HH QMT with enforcer pickups. I know it is not a Strat but it nails the ebony board + neck specs. And the top even without a pickguard looks way cool. Question: what kind of sound do you get from the "enforcer " HH pickups? Hard to find information on them. Are they"hot". I am used to the classic sounds I got from my 62 vintage reissue strat and my Strat Ultra. I play jazz, blues, country, classic rock and SRV or ZZTop is all the distortion I need. I would prefer a clean tight sound from the guitar and let my amp or pedal provide the distortion. So, does it seem that the enforcer pick-ups would be too hot for my tastes even with the S-1 switching? Any advice or links about these enforcer pickups would be most appreciated. If the Tele is a no go then my choices come down to the Strat Amer. Deluxe HSS QMT or a custom shop axe. THANKS!!

Peter Gutierrez :)
