very nice this forum for this great guitar !

I recentily bought one new Amer. Standart Stratocaster, alder and mapple neck on a blizzard pearl color, very nice sound .... and for my surprise when I was back home was that the weight of this new one is about 8,2 lb or 3,7kg . I had a few years before one other that doens´t have the sound of this one but was very much lighter.

My question is : Do you guys that have the 2008 series, are noting the same? How much is the average weight for this new stratocasters?

Firstly, welcome to the forum.

My guess is around 8lbs is about average.
some more, some less as density of wood varies
along with different species of wood.

Noe Eric Johnson may well be able to tell within a few
ounces the wieght of a guitar just buy it' "tone".
For most of us mortals wieght is not the major tone factor.

Welcome to the forum. I have an '08 in Blizzard Pearl w/Rosewood and it's a bit heavier than other Strats, but not by much. I had a '73 Strat that was a beast! Good luck with it!

Paulo, welcome to the forum.With strats , its kind of hit and miss as far as weight.I have a SRV, Texas Special strat and an 2008 MIA and the MIA is just slightly lighter than the other two.
