I just got a used MIM strat that has a riased (lokslike) pewter emblem that says Texas on the front of the headstock near the very top (near 1st string/high E tuner). Any one ever seen this?know what it is?

Hi goracing: does it look like this?

http://www.fender.com/products/prod_ima ... 700_xl.jpg

If so, I very much doubt it's pewter, but it's a foil of some metal or other, likely with a little chrome in it to make it shiny.

It is mostly found on MIA Deluxe guitars such as the one above.

But recently someone posted here with that type of logo on a Korean Strat, so it obviously ain't confined solely to Am Deluxes. And from what you say it can be found on MIMs too.

Pretty, ain't it?

Cheers - C

Hello Goracing,

Never saw anything like that.
Some geegaw that was put on by previous owner.
A great fan of the lone star state no doubt.

Cheers.

A raised pewter Fender logo would look pretty hot on a dark headstock, but I wonder how it wouldn't fall off.
