A few years a go I had a freak accident with my strat and it fell from its strap (one of the strap buttons came out) and it fell onto a linoleum floor and broke. The upper elbow contour totally snapped off. Its glued on now, but I've gotta say that it has affected the resonance of the instrument. I've tried working around it, but it looks like the body is going to have to be replaced. Here's where things get tricky. Its not a regular strat body, its and America Deluxe V Neck, so the holes for the neck screws aren't in the normal place and the heel is contoured to allow for greater reach. How do I get one of these bodies from Fender because I don't think any other aftermarket places would even carry a body that's compatible with my neck?

You might try talking to an authorized repair shop but I doubt you'll get one. I'd start checking Ebay for somebody parting one out. Warmoth probably has an aftermarket that will work.

I would give warmoth http://www.warmoth.com or bernie hefner http://www.bhefnerco.com/ a try, as soon as I've got some cash I'm grabbing a warmoth birdseye maple neck and a hefner sunburst strat body and making my next partscaster(I've read warmoth dont use nitro which is what i need)I'm sure these guys can accommodate your "different" neck.

Goodluck

I would say ebay is the place to start as Deluxes are probably the most popular guitars that are parted as I see a load of them . The sticking point is that it is a V neck and I never pay that much attention to details on parted bodies but there is a good chance you might find one.

thanks for this. It looks like i'll have to save up like $400. Can I get away with just 3 screws on the neck or can I alter the neck to to work on a standard body?

Warmoth is awesome. I have a replacement from them, it's nice, great Inca Silver finish. I want a semi-hollow/chambered strat body from them.

But you should take a closer look at the mounting holes on that neck. Many AmDlx necks have 5 screw holes....4 in the typical rectangular position and an extra hole to accomodate the "Contour Heel" of the typical American Deluxe. Here is a 2009 AmDlx neck that has the 5 holes...

If your neck has the 5 hole configuration, you could go with an American Standard body, or virtually any modern Strat body. You wouldnt have the Contour Heel and the body wouldnt be as nice, otherwise.

is there any way to tell without taking the whole thing apart?
