Has anyone used the surfpicks made out of polished lingum vitae wood, i think thats the spelling. They advertise a warmer mellower tone that would lend itself to a strat. Of course everyone on thier website is gaga about the but how about impartial real everyday players! any thoughts?

Not that brand, but I've tried similar ones, and copper, various metal, stone and other types of picks. Although I love the innovative part of that, and love trying new things, I've yet to find anything I like using more, or ones that sound better to me than "normal" picks.

For me those are green Tortex .88's for electric, and black Dunlop Nylon 1.0 for acoustic.

Hello Markdol1,

Thanks for the link.
They look pretty neat.
12 bucks gets you in the club,
not terribly bad considering he has
to make them. One day I'll spring for one.

Cheers.

Considering how awesome I found V-picks to be, it might be worth the money to find out what those are like. A different pick really can make a dramatic difference.

I've only ever used Fender, Coffin and Dunlop picks=\ Will have to try the Surf and V Picks.
