Do a search on the site. Someone posted exact dimensions for a wood block a while ago.

I posted the dimensions of the block in my Clapton. We also had another link offered as well as a drawing.

There ya go!

Actually...it's a no-brainer. Just back the bridge down until it is flush with the top and fit a piece of your favorite wood wide enough to fill the space between the mass block and the back of the trem rout snugly. It's other dimensions need be no more that 1.5/1.5 inches to do the job. In the Clapton the top of the mass block and the wood block are at the same level.

I posted this same question a few months ago when I bought my first Strat., a MIM standard. I did what some above had suggested. The wood block thing is absolutely un-neccesary.

First loosten the strings, way loose. Just take off the back cover. You probably have 3 springs that are angled toward the center of the claw. Re position them to go directly across the back from the block to the claw.
Screw down the claw screws with a phillips screwdirver intil the trim bridge is resting firmly down on the body. Real firm. Fille the two open springs positions to the claw/trem arrangment. Close it up and tune it up. I have done that to al my strats and its easy and stable and the 5 springs give lots of stability and resonance. Easy to undo.

Whatever works.

The only guitar in the Fender line fitted out w/ a blocked trem is the Clapton, and we've offered the company's approach to same. Why they chose that option has never been explained. One might expect that it was the approach which Eric requested or approved in the design.
