Aside from having a stupid name, what's the deal with the Prodigy? I'd never heard of it but there's someone selling one in my area for $650. It looks pretty cool - a lot like a strat only missing a tone knob and with an offset body. Anyone else have one of these?

A nephew had one. Some developing-country-built, if memory serves. Not too interesting or noteworthy, so to speak...that had to be 10 years ago.

'Believe it was like a $150 or so street price guitar, then.

If you check some of the forums about other Fender guitars, PTM, then you'll find more info about the prodigy.

Neat guitar, nothing notable though. Reminds of a strat I had a long time ago that only had one volume and one tone knob and plugged in on the front, just a front facing jack.
