I bought a Strat body on Ebay last night. They guy said he bought it awhile back for a project but didn't know what model it was.

I just sold a 91 Strat Plus body and it looks the same, what do you think? What other models used swimming pool routes. I think the American Standards at the time did also.

The one on the left is the one I sold, and the one on the right is what i bought.

I'm thinking this will be my next project while I'm supposed to wait for 2 months for paint to harden on the other guitar before I can sand it and put it back together.

I was thinking of doing my own version of a Strat Plus. Like this body with a black pickguard, and some black power lace sensor pickups, maybe a soft V neck, and I'm thinking like a s1 switch, or clapton boost or something like that. Not sure yet. Shouldn't be too expensive to do except for getting the neck.

Im sorry. Are you suggesting that you just sold and bought identical guitar bodies?

What am I missing here?

Yeah pretty much. I sold the body because I got a body in Midnight Blue I liked better. And I bought this body because it was $99. Seemed like a good price. Also one is Lipstick Red and one is Candy Apple Red.

As far as the G & L goes. I'm sure it's an american fender, just not sure if it's from a strat plus or an american standard. Or if they're both identical.

I think that the swimming pool route is common to all Strat Plus. I don't think any American Standards had this route.

Well there's a few ads on ebay that list bodies with swimming pool routes as american standards. Like the inca silver one I posted in another thread. So I was think maybe they were plus bodies misidentified. Like the inca silver one is from 1997 which according to the www.xhefriguitars.com webpage is the year the strat plus was available in inca silver.

But I looked up a few other early 90's american standards, and it shows them with swimming pool routes. So I was just looking for a definite answer. Maybe some has a early 90's american standard and knows it has the swimming pool route?
