Hello all. When I play my '08 MIM Strat I seem have difficulty with the low E string. Maybe it's just my technique but I always seem to "roll the string" off the fret board. For example in simple D chords when I apply pressure teh low E slides off the side of the neck. Its gone through a professional set. I never have this problem on my Les Paul. Is the MIM Strat neck the same width as a Les Paul? Is there something else that can be done by a guirtar tech to help with this or do I just need to keep practising? Thanks!!

Callaham guitars can rig you up with a replacement bridge assembly that will give you better string spacing. Just google it.

Its more likely a neck alignment problem than width. Its easily solved.
1 slacken the strings right off but dont remove them.
2 undo the neck bolts.
3 crank the low E side of the neck upwards at the headstock. (Be gentle too little pressure is far better than too much)
You'll have to balance the edge to string differences on both E's.
4 tighten the neck bolts
5 retune

this method should sort the problem. Its a long standing problem with fender guitars dating back to 51. Infact this technique was included in the handbook before everything was tech this and return that.
