I have been playing guitar since I was a kid (53 now) and my son (28) is a professional guitarist, Berklee College Of Music Allum, and has been teaching guitar for the past 5 years as well as playing in several bands. We were recently exposed to the concept of "Custom Picks" and chose RED BEAR TRADING to make a couple of picks for us. Holy mackerel, oh my goodness, are you kidding, etc etc. I just wanted to share this excellent experience with you guy's. You think (as I did) that a pick is a pick...right? Well nothing could be further from the truth. A RED BEAR pick is like driving a "sports pick", a "luxury pick" a "super duty pick" .... They feel great in your hand, glide off of the strings effortlessly, sound great, and you can't hurt them (believe me, we tried) We love these picks! Do yourself a real favor and try one. You will be amazed at what a difference these picks really make, and how much they really add to your playing and sound.

Yeah, I like my Red Bear Heavy "D"... it's funny how much difference a pick can make. Pricey, but really only if you lose one — they last forever.

I also like the Wegen Gypsy Jazz for more strident playing.
