Hi,

I´ve bought a fender VG blizzard pearl, and I´d like to know it is possible to buy that body DEMO decal that says: "a world of sound at your fingertips".

Thanks a lot.

Since no one else answered, I'll take a stab...my guess would be "no"...you probably won't be able to buy that decal...at least not from Fender. My guess would be that it was a special promotional thing they did just for the NAMM show and they probably didn't make more than a few at the most.

That said, after watching the vid a couple of times, that decal appears to be something along the lines of a "window cling" or something similar since the guy was able to peel it back then roll/press it back on. I suspect that if you did a little checking and asked around (perhaps on Ebay) that you could probably find someone to make one of these for you pretty easily...and it would probably be a lot cheaper than buying one from Fender anyways. I would think that if folks can print off duplicates of vintage logos that are virtually indistinguishable from the originals, printing out something like this would be fairly easy. The hardest part would be coming up with the exact design...you'd probably have to find a really good image of the decal itself to work from...or design it yourself.

I'm sure that's probably not what you were looking for or wanted to hear, but good luck either way!

Peace,
Jim

Hi Jim,

Thank you for your answer. Actually, I'm aware about all those things you told me. You were perfect on your answer. Unfortunately there is no good image available, but I will try to do somehing as soon as have time.

Just for the record, I really enjoyed that decal, and I saw one VG on ebay that probably was used in one of these demostrations.

Thanks a lot Jim

Hey Bruno,
That's another idea...keep your eye out for another one on either Ebay or Craigslist and ask for more pictures. Ain't nothing wrong with a little deception. Let the seller think you're really interested in buying the guitar but you really want to see some better images of the decal...there's a good chance they may go for it and send you a few to work with.

Of course you could try and buy the instrument itself but if all your after is the decal...you get the idea 8).

L8r,
Jim

The VG Strat is probably the most fun and enjoyable Fender guitars to play and is probably the most short lived ever. It is too bad. I purchased mine when GC had them for less than $1000 and I don't regret purchasing it. I guess the guitar came too late or too soon as currently it seems no one has interest in it. Perhaps due to the bad economy?

Hey, I saw a VG with the sticker you mentioned on the GC website about three days ago. Good luck with finding it in their 400 pages of guitars.

Go to used gear and then at the top, click on guitars. I just bought a gorgeous 1987 (E4) plus sliver/maple in mint shape with OHSC!
